That is weird.  When I right clicked on both Pia's and Henrik's scripts, when the pdf properties comes up, I don't see their names anywhere.  Just curious Jeff, does my name show up on my script?  I specifically made a copy that was supposed to eliminate any name.

Yep, Ryan, yours was on there as well.  There is free PDF software that will eliminate the doc properties that give you away.

Sonofabitch.  Gotta get hold of that prop eliminator before the next challenge.

You're telling me when you right click the title of the pdf, the name appears right there in the properties?  I wonder why that's not working when I do that.

Clearly, Jeff's hacking skills are unparalleled, surpassing even those of Kate "Acid Burn" Libby.

I wish...as in I wish my hacking or even basic computer skills were up to snuff, but I also wish I could hack into Angie's pants...

Jeff, I learned last year, (or maybe even the year before) from your comments that a person could go into the file specs and determine the author's name.

I was working so hard on the script that only afterwards I thought: "Swear word! I forgot to deal with that". Anyways, I work on a Mac and for me or you, if you're also on a Mac, you should be able to go into

Tools

Then choose

Inspector

And yes, low and behold, you'll see my name.

I can honestly say that I didn't check anyone's scripts because that's part of the fun for me and even Lexalicious's script, (I learned he wrote his name on the title page-- he must have forgotten) but I didn't notice because as you all know, I'm not that visual and so I easily miss things-- part of the reason I think I love to study screenwriting. It's a challenge for me to create visual pictures using words and then fun to see how other people interpret it.

For me, I'm not so interested in just coveting a visual form that I create, but rather seeing it grow and interpreted by other artists along the way.

Anyways, the hidden name within the file-- it's just one of those silly little things that we come across and need to work with.

Sandra

Is the screen software inserting the name when you export to PDF? Maybe you could change the info on your software if so.

Yours is on there, as well, Sandra.  It's a simple right click and it shows up.  No hacking skills required.

Pia, I just asked Dave and he says that yours will work without downloading a special program. He says to go into

Preferences

And then remove the author's (your) name.

Hope this helps,

Sandra

For some reason, my Final Draft 7 had some bugs when I loaded it onto my new PC last year, one of those being when I hit "Save as a pdf", I get a message that says "printer name invalid."  So I had to go to an alternate pdf writer and I used Cutepdf.  The thing is Cutepdf has an option that allows you to supposedly make a separate copy of the file with all personal data removed.  Now I find out that it didn't do that at all.  Now I need to download some more crap.

I did thus, and he says, thanks.   Yes, it's sure appreciated to have the technical
help at hand.
