Some really good scripts this time around, absolutely loved it. Also thanks to Don for the name "Crooked Nose", wish I'd thought of that one, was worried someone might work it out but it stayed secret to the end

IMO, this OWC just may have been the highest quality ever.  It was a fun challenge as well.

Surprisingly, the one fairy tale I thought someone would have worked with was the Billy Goats Gruff. Still, the selection given was vast and inventive. I only made it a point to comment on a small handful at random, and I only read about half. Eagle eyes will note that I did not have an entry this go around.  This was due to a floor being remodeled and instead of taking two days it took an entire week!  Just as well- I could not decide between Billy Goats and a dark satire regarding Medusa (Gk mythos)

Maybe I'll still write 'em and dump 'em in the shorts area in the near future.

Congrats to Mark and everyone else on a great challenge. So many wildly creative scripts this time around. The challenge topic itself was also amazing and has already inspired me to start writing a different (but still very disturbed) fairy tale retelling.

Thanks to Don for coming up with it and all your hard work.

This was really fun and congratulations to not only the top picks but to everyone involved. It's not easy staring a blank page in the face and writing a fully fleshed story in a couple of weeks. Thanks everyone who took the time to give their constructive criticisms, I'm sure we can all appreciate the time spent on reviewing our scripts. It was my first ever OWC, have to say it was an awesome experience and there's some great talent on showcase here.

Sadly, only got to read 5. Crazy few weeks, started a new job too. If anyone wants me to take a look, just give me a shout.

This was my first OWC, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!  I'm looking forward to the next one.  

And congrats to the winner.  That was around the fifth or sixth script I read, after a few really good ones mind you, and I had a feeling that one was going to win it.  There were a few other ones that I thought were in the running too though!

Well done james and mark. Two sound scripts.

Also, well done everyone else for some interesting scripts in a surprisingly tough challenge.

The max time we get is seven days. For me, I got six days, and within that I was travelling on two. So the reality is that we knock these out in super quick time. That's what impresses me once we stand back and reflect on the work.

Weird and wonderful highlights include

= Seven deadly dwarfs

= killer plant

= a lot of fucked up parents

= a great use of Pinocchio's nose

= a wonderful moddy, psychotherapist tail

= a cracking reversal in the scripts with the two sisters - skin deep I think

= a story involving ants!

= and leprechauns in a gay pride march using the colours of the rainbow - nice use of that, got potential

And finally, the Don.

I read quite a few stories that I enjoyed, so great job to all who have entered.

I'm surprised my own story has done as well as it did, I even got a vote in the reader's choice :) , I will certainly have to re-write this.....think I can make it really shine now that it won't be squeezed into 10 pages.
