I'd like to participate as well. Someone has to explain the rules and the criteria of this thing though.

thanks,

If you follow the link to the old thread that LC (Libby) put up you will get a decent understanding.

The rules to each round are explained as the rounds happen as well.

I think a good request would be to keep the topics a bit more generic especially as far as politics go. Early rounds had the White House (not so bad) and the final round had some very specific US legislation and locations. I feel in these instances the US writers definitely have an advantage.

Obviously a non-US writer can research all this stuff but it's time which could be spent developing an idea or writing.

But I'm sure you will run it as you see fit

I forgot all about my easily forgettable clown comedy skydiving onto the White House.

Oh please, God Mr. Blonde, not another comedy.

Ah crap, this stinks. June and July are too busy for me with other commitments...

What happened to March? HUH, WHAT HAPPENED TO MARCH!?!?!?

That may not be a dealbreaker this time around...

As for the second part, I was ready to go in March, but it would've interrupted the April OWC and I didn't want it to do that.

Quoted from FrankM
Maybe I’ll make it to the second round this time.

I don't think that'll be a worry this time. I learned a lot of lessons last year. And, I learned how to alliterate.

Quoted from FrankM
One request: could we ask writers to not comment on their own scripts or their opponents’, at least in the early rounds with pair-matches?

Won't be a concern. You have my word.

A fair criticism and one that I have accounted for.

They will be on opening day (and, no, that's not the same day that round 1 begins).

Fate will decide, as it did last time. No favoritism will be shown. Could be 5 rounds of comedy or you could have not a lick of comedy for the entire time.

Make me. Lol. But, am I picking up some subtext that you're not planning to participate, Pia? Ha, more alliteration.

I can't commit that sort of time, not to mention the amount of work. I may read a little here and there though. Good luck to those that enter and have fun.

It's back....and this time...it's mad!
I can't commit, I promised myself I'd write my first novel this year and I'm exactly halfway through the first draft. Gonna keep focusing on that until it is done.

Best of luck all who enter and I'll check things out when I can.

I missed out on the last one. I'm in.

I don't have the time either, but I'll at least turn in some real stinkers.

I would like to give this tournament a try. Sounds like it will be challenging, and a good writing exercise. Similar to the OWCs, though I like that the time constraint is even shorter. Times like these I'm happy to be unemployed Please put my hat in the ring.

If I may, since everyone is weighing in with suggestions...

I know not all of us have traditional work weeks; however as one of those that do, I found it difficult to get the story idea on a Friday, and then submit the script by the following Friday. Because all my writing time, which was Sat-Sun, was spent coming up with the story...

If we got the parameters on Monday, then we'd have all week to formulate, and then the weekends to write.

Just my 2 cents...

Otherwise, I will turn in D minus work...
