I wrote I Got The Shaft, but Don didn't put my SS name. I will try to address some of the issues with my script today. Not sure if it's good enough to polish and promote, but had a good time in my first OWC. Some good entries for sure. Some surprises with the names now revealed. Good job to all that entered.
Apologies, I've updated the listing

When is the voting going to be unveiled?
Probably tomorrow. Many folks didn't submit votes with names, so it is taking me a while to match IP addresses to names.

oh, I bet I was one of those people. I don't recall if I did or not, but, I don't remember seeing a place to enter the name. If I did, I am sorry. For the next OWC, I hope you remind us how we should do it the right way.
Speaking of the next one, if you want help, I'd be glad to help. I had a blast. I think it is interesting to see what people think of a story w/o names. And I know that I learned lessons that won't be soon forgotten. I won't ever say "she feels the knife enter her body" since I'm scarred for life now
I'm interested in reading animation, horror, sci fy, suspense, fantasy, and anything that is good. I enjoy writing the same. Looking to team with anyone!
The Elevator Most Belonging to Alice - Bill's OWC manifesto I Heart Zombies - proves that Rick should write features and get paid lots of money Iron Garbage - Mo puts his gloves on Fabrini - Henry writes one that I read several times over... and I have no idea why
I was actually blown away at the diverse ideas surrounding this theme, creative to say the least. I usually do, but didn't get a chance to comment on most of the scripts this time due to a sh!tstorm I endured this week. BUT, I did read them all... twice. I usually read them all then go back and (as I reread) try to capitalize on something that wasn't mentioned in a previous post. If you commented on my work and I missed yours, I will sincerely try (in the days ahead) to return the favour in kind.
I used to be able to (somewhat guess) at who wrote what; Vis-à-vis, Johnny, Mo, Dustin, and the usual motley suspects, but everyone's evolving and adapting so quickly to a different voice and style... that it makes it hard to peg anyone down nowadays. Sometime back, Mo and I had a brief discussion about writers being arbiters of change, and I always think about that.
If we view society as adapting to, and being lead by new layers and ideas within the media, then it's easy to see writers as adapting and creating new works to fuel the quest from the masses for change. I also like to view these OWC's as a strange 'PULSE' (like a shock to the lower brain stem),or a request coming from the distant media moguls for new and entertaining ideas surrounding various themes. They don't look to directors, producers, or agencies... they always look to the writers (first) to create the base of the new paradigm. Anyway, just my two cents regarding a concept that stirs within, and how I've taken notice to all the writers (here) evolving to a status beyond proficiency in order to adapt to whatever is thrown their way.
BTW, Johnny and Mark, thank you for the kind words; for including the Zombie script in your list of 'potential' reads. Truly, words of encouragement for me to keep at it. Till next time...
I'll add my thanks to Don for this OWC, it was a great idea and the results are the best I can remember. These challenges are creative boosters even for us who read only, really there's nothing like it.
those of us who weren't able to complete (or start) this OWC can learn, maybe even break out of writer's block by reading -- there's every opportunity to be inspired
Catherine, I think you're a superstar for reading when you didn't enter yourself.
Some people entered, but didn't read anything...
I know everything is volunteer, but, man, that is so bush league to submit something, expect others to read yours, and not at least read some of them.
Or at least read some now, once the names came out to repay the favor that others did for you.
I guess people don't realize that Karma goes a long way. You read one, and 2 seem to read yours. I know when I joined, I read a lot of scripts.
The other added bonus, you learn from reading new stuff that isn't perfect on what to do and what not to do.... It's literally a win-win-win. I don't get why anyone wouldn't at least read some of the stories, or at least give a reason why not...
