P.S. Your avatar still does my head in and makes me laugh everytime I see it.

My lovely fiancee got me this precious little monster a couple of months ago. Yoko is my new best friend and is every bit as weird as I am.

Oh wow, you're engaged, Zack?
Big congrats to you both!

The lil monster is gorgeous. The mutt's pretty good looking too.

Not sure if it has been mentioned in the thread yet, but Brand New Cherry Flavour is 'interesting' and worth a look.

I'm 8 Horror films in so far in October...
Suspiria (Original on Prime)
Seance (on Shudder - meh)
Malignant (Cinema - shit but insane final act)
Tremors (Netflix)
V/H/S 94 (Shudder)
Night of the Demons (Shudder)
Phantasm (Shudder)
Level 16 (Shudder - worth a watch)

Plus some Creepshow episodes...

(and congrats Zack!)

Hype can lead to some dissatisfaction I'll admit.
So, lower your expectations just a little and then I'm sure you'll love it.

Yeah, for me Squid Game was just okay. Clever games and a gore fest (Zack WILL love it!) but that's about it. Don't get me wrong, it was satisfying

Night of the Demons

Haaa I love this flick (assuming you mean the original). Great fun.

Thinking about this one makes me miss renting horror movies on VHS back in the day.

Yep, original Night of the Demons, Shudder have added a bunch of classic 80s content for Halloween, I'm going to wade through them all!

Not sure when Midnight Mass was made available on Netflix but I'm on episode 5 of 7 and it rocks. By the same team that did Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor but this has a different feel to it. No cheap jump scares, just quality build up and creep factors. ***1/2 (so far).

Finished this. So good until some idiotic decisions near the end that were right out of that insurance commercial (you know, lets hide behind the chainsaws?). Took me right out of it and kept me from bumping this up to a 4* rating. Still a recommend.

My friend Jess wrote and directed this horror. Was released a few months ago.

https://youtu.be/Ph9I6j7i1aY

I binge watched Midnight Mass. Some stuff I loved, some things made me yell at the tv...like the stupid, long speeches each character had at some point. Like way too freaking talky sometimes. Maybe to stretch it out? IMO they could have shown more of the island with the cats. Had potential to be scary but ended up just being tossed in there. I did enjoy it though. Like a 6 out of 10.

Couldn't open the link, might be regional.
Watched the trailer, Marnie. Some impressive Horror names headlining.

Looks like a lot of fun!

Might be handy having a friend like that?

I think it costs like $3 to watch the movie. Just posted the link so people could watch the trailer.

Met him recently. He lives 5 minutes from me. Might end up working together on something but we're REALLY different. We joked that I'm a "save the cat" writer, he's "kill the baby".

Oh yeah, I saw this flick! Great debut. He's got a good style but definitely on the nasty side.

Don't know how familiar people are with it, but I watched Saint Maud recently and thought it was a great horror film. Bit of a slow burn but well worth it.
