I feel like I'm ready for another change. The night sweets and PTSD from the WT has finally subsided.

That and several hours of crying in the fetal position when my scripts got a bad review.

Magician themes, I say. Illusionists. Circus acts from hell.
Chances are though, it's just another ghost story. Maybe a ghost story with a magician.

That was fast...

Okay, this one's thrown me.  Will think on it after dinner, but yep, that's chucked my previous theory out the window.

The effect of increased fog on crops in India = climate change, the future?

Sorry for the delay, eating dinner.

I figured 'Metropolis' might be the influence - futurism, robotics, androids, either silent movie or radio play. Hmm, climate change as catalyst could still be in the works.

Or, I might be way off.

Another clue:

Pareidolia.

The tendency to interpret a vague stimulus as something known to the observer, such as seeing shapes in clouds, seeing faces in inanimate objects or abstract patterns, or hearing hidden messages in music.

I was thinking of retro-futurism as well. The news report reminded me that Freddie Mercury was Indian.

But the hidden messages part threw me. Was Queen caught up in all that backwards-masking hysteria in the 80s?

The concept seems to be circling around hearing but not seeing, with a possible reference to the fog of war.

I don't know what else to say.

It will only make it more confusing!

I will simply say that is not retro futurism and that nothing in the original, or the Queen video relates to content.

Conversely everything afterwards (except references to Brexit in the Martial law post) does relate to content.

Okay, hang on, I'll just get Frank...

Martial law, fog (weather affecting crops),the quest for food, pareidolia /hidden messages (ha! there's irony in that clue).

I'd say: the world going to hell in a handbasket, survival...

I dunno.

P.S. Not in order. I don't want to make it easy for others.

Eh, let’s see (or not with all this damned fog).

The fog and the lyrics to Radio Ga Ga deal with the lack of being able to see.

The fog had effects on the crops that farmers mis-interpreted. Pareidolia is all about mis-interpretations, and farmers are all about the quest for food.

Attack a big problem incorrectly for long enough, it might lead to martial law.

That’s not really clicking together seamlessly for me.

My entry is coming together nicely.

A blind man, hungry for breakfast, stumbles into a London Fog store thinking it's a bakery. Reaching for a "loaf of bread" he bumps his head on a clothing rack. His sight partially returns.

Unfortunately, he misinterprets the incoming images and he misreads a gathering crowd (Queen is holding an outdoor concert) as an invasion.

Here's the twist... HE'S THE PRIME MINISTER... (minds blown)... and he quickly orders Marshal law into affect. The economy crashes and a dystopian future is ushered in.

I think I can do it in 3 pages.

Ooh...

I think you can tease when you're going to announce it.
The Countdown clock usually comes into effect when you blow the whistle - Don puts it up I think.

Here's the April OWC announcement.

https://www.simplyscripts.net/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-April2019/m-1555025766/s-0/

I only post that cause that's a typical time of day for announcement, but sometimes it's announced earlier - time zone differences etc.

Looking forward to seeing what it is!

P.S. That actually just listed the finish time, didn't it? Oh well, will leave it in your capable hands. Is everyone up yet in the U.S.? Probably too early yet.

I'll probably be the same. I'm away for four days next week from Tuesday morning to Friday night. Then I have work to do when I get back on a very complicated video script.

Shame, but gives the rest of us a chance at least.

Although I have no idea if I will have the time... it depends how much I am able to skive off work and write it in the office. (I really hope I can make some money from writing before the boss finds out how little I do at work and fires me)

OK. I will release the info today, then we can start the proceedings proper tomorrow.

Is that OK, or is that too short notice?

It's designed to be a two week thing because the first week will require discussiins/debates...
