Funny thing that Julie London's version was already present in one of my scripts I uploaded back in 2006...

I am not going to kid you guys.  This is not a great song.  It is not even a good song.  It is not even a bad song.  God knows what it is.

But "good songs" is not the title of this thread, is it?

All I know is that since hearing this "song" about a week ago, it has indeed been stuck in my head.

I do not know why.  I did not ask for it.  But there it is.  All the time.  Figured I would spread the pain around a bit.

So, enjoy the 9th wonder of the world:  The Shaggs and their hit single, "My Pal Foot-Foot".

Can't wait to hear what Sandra thinks of these guys.

You've just posted the chaotic sounds that must indeed exist inside my tiny mind.

And "foot-foot" I believe is correlated to Flin Flon who has been disposed of and burned inside of the game, "Thief" due to our necessary constraints of time and reason.

But alas, I am above time and reason and call, "Come hither, Flin Flon!" and "Come hither, Foot-Foot!"

So thus:

Flin Flon and Foot-Foot both rise like a phoenix, remaking itself endlessly from the ashes.

What sounds to us as "garbage" in our vessels is actually very beautiful. It's only that we don't have the level of perception yet.

I love this thread!!!!!!!

Sandra

This thread is amazing. The divergence in music personality here is truly a schism that adds to the flavor of this site.

I'll add here a song that to me, is not merely a song, but captures a sort of essence that I've identified with for a long time.

Buffy!

Now there was a TV show.

As an academic librarian, I would like to think of myself as a Rupert Giles type - but I fear I am more a Xander Harris!

Paramore! Right on!

I was wondering if anyone else on here found them as addictive as I do. I find myself humming/singing their songs a lot more than a 29 year-old male probably should. But in my defense, their songs are extremely infectious. "Misery Business", "That's What You Get", "Crushcruscrush" ... I could go on.

Hayley Williams is amazing. She's smaller than my cat but she's a frickin' dynamo.

Lyrics from: Faith No More Evidence

If you want to open your hole
Just put your head down and go
Step beside the piece of the circumstance
Got to wash away the taste of evidence
Wash it away
[evidence x3]
[got a taste of evidence]

I didn't feel a thing
It didn't mean a thing
Look in the eye and testify
I didn't feel a thing

Anything you say, we know you're guilty
Hands above your head,
and you won't even feel me
You won't feel me

[i didn't feel a thing]

I didn't feel a thing
It didn't mean a thing
Look in the eye and testify
I didn't feel a thing

*guitar solo*

[evidence X3]
[got a taste of evidence]

I didn't feel a thing
You didn't mean a thing
Look in the eye and testify
I didn't feel a thing x2
