Fisher just flat outcoached Harbaugh in this one. Even Kaepernick and Staley were saying after the game that the Rams were in the 'perfect defense' for almost every play.
I wont blame this one on Kaepernick. Triple Option on their own 17 on 3rd down was a horrible call. on 49ers ensuing drive - after Kaeps 50 yard scamper - Delanie Walker drops winning TD pass
My new ranking, which takes into consideration not only achievement and record, but recent performance.
1) Patriots: Call this a homer call, but who is better? We'll find out more the next couple weeks with Houston then San Fran. The Defense is suspect, injuries are mounting, but no one is playing better. 2) Denver: Peyton's hot, has a solid defense, and a crazy easy schedule. 3) San Fran: sorry Stevie, no team with a self generated QB controversy is topping my list. And no team that lost to the Rams. Kaepernick over Brady or Manning? Nope. 4) Pittsburgh: think I'm crazy? They have the best defense in the league, and were playing great when Big Ben went down. If he comes back healthy, they're probably the best team in the league. There will be lingering health issues for him, though. 5) Atlanta: we'll see if they're for real. I'm not convinced, but they are hanging in their, finding ways to win every week. 6) Green Bay: they're still dangerous. But a defense that has barely improved and an offensive line that can't protect Rodgers, they seem to be in decline. 7) Baltimore: fading fast. The offense has been anemic for about 2 months, and now Suggs has torn bicep. These guys have been unimpressive for a month. Giants: still scary in the playoffs, but other than last week, the Giants have been lousy for a month and half. They couldn't stop Washington when they needed to tonight. These guys think that you can barely make the playoffs, then win every game in the last minute. Sooner or later that gets you into trouble. 9) Colts: Luck still going strong. 10) Seattle: Pete Carol keeps 'em playing hard. If they make the playoffs, they could get a first round win again.
Didn't realise there was a football thread on the site... Even more awesome - for the first time in years I actually got to see the Cowboys win on SNF... and even then they nearly managed to stuff it up as usual. Bloody Romo! *shakes fist*
I think I'd actually put Houston behind Atlanta. We'll know more this week.
Houston has been struggling. They should have lost last week, maybe the last two. Could be just bumps in the road, every team has them.
I wish the Pats weren't so banged up. Losing Edelman hurts more than people know. Missing he and Gronk reduces them to a couple of weapons, and now all teams have to do is focus on those.
Yeah, he is what he is. Kind of a disappointment. Edelman was really a big part of what they do, even playing the number 2 sometimes. That hurts them more than people realize. If the offense runs well against Houston, despite losing two key players(Gronk and Edelman) and having injuries on the O line, that'll be impressive.
Either way, I need both Daniels and "White Arms" (Welker) to have huge games. Plus, I like both of them anyway. But, I am definitely rooting for the Texans because I can't stand the Patriots.
I think it will be close either way. Honestly, if we had Gronk and Edelman I think we'd blow them out. Beat them soundly anyway. Too big a stage for those boys.
Gronky is an issue, as I thing he's # 1 TE in the league.
But, it doesn't really matter into big pic, cuz my Rammies are going to sneak in to the Playoffs and sneak into the Super Bowl and maybe..just fucking maybe...pull off the upset of the history of all things unholy and bright.
