Movie posters, nor the design of them push me into writing. For me, all that bullshit comes after the script is written. Seems to me that a lot of supposed writers spend more time designing posters for their scripts than actually writing them.

Touché…
That makes sense I guess… it’s like trying to ice a cake when there’s no cake. I think inspiration comes from a few different avenues though when writing. Music, art, writing… for me, it’s all interwoven as some strange symbiotic evolution during the design process. QT himself has even written scenes solely based on the fact he could incorporate a certain song into it for continuity. This shows he is not just a writer/director, he is an artist, a savant if you will, and does not limit himself to just one medium during the creation process.
At the end of the day, I believe most, if not all the writers on this site have the knack for other avenues of approach when trying to tame their writing muse. If you can inspire someone to write about something via artwork or music, then what’s wrong with the ideology of stoking your own inspiration with other mediums? Another way of looking at it is, if you’re a writer and have not tried to work with any other medium, then you really are putting a cap on the imaginative process.
Pm Don about what? There will be an October OWC. There's even a board for it up now. It's going to happen.
About the 1+6WC. I finished mine. Wrote three drafts, I think, and sent it of to the prod-co, but never heard back, so it was another clunker.
Saw that after I wrote it. And I wondered about PM's Don because some (including me) asked to help run the OWC in recent times.
As for my own 1+6, I'm still writing and shaping it up, but it's something I'm taking some time on- a personal choice. I did, however, out myself on that thread ("Balancing Act") not that anyone gives a hoot.
I like them all. With a twist, without a twist, slow burn, fast burn... a good writer just tells stories. Don't get bogged down with bullshit.
I'm already writing a horror feature... completely different to what anyone else is doing right now. Took me a while to come up with something new. Not sure I could do it again so soon, but we'll see.
Well I'm late to the party, but... looks like the sub-forum is up!
Is there a specific time to except the challenge to be announced? Has there been a pattern of a specific day of the week for example in the past or is it random?

Hopefully you'll manage to churn something out for the OWC as well, was quite looking forward to reading your entry. Best of luck with the feature.
Limitations: You only have three human actors - two male and one female. (adults who can play between the ages of 18 to 80). One male is in a wheelchair. All events must occur sometime between October 30th to November 1st. You can't use the word Halloween. Everything occurs in and around an abandoned, rundown house. You can do anything to the house, except burn it down.
Each character must have some history involving a supernatural event in their lives that factors into their choice. Genre is open. This is a micro-budget short, so no destruction of the motel, no children or animals and minimal special effects.

I wrote A Mime Is A Terrible Thing To Waste for that one.
Let me know if you would like to see the film. They did a great job with it.
