I don't like helping strangers. I like helping people I know. When I throw down words for the newbs I see it as helping out the site. They need to understand format, and one of the best ways of helping them understand is to take an action block and rewrite it alongside an explanation.

I also do that because I believe this site should be about give and take. One shouldn't come in here expecting free reviews. It has to be earned. If a new member can't be arsed with that then fuck 'em. They don't deserve help.

If a member here is so incensed at a review concentrating on poor structure and format, even bad grammar, then why not simply throw down a highly detailed review on the story and character developments right afterwards? Problem solved.

Personally, I can't get past bad writing and bad dialogue. I can't read more than a page of it and I shouldn't feel obliged to. What has that newb ever done for me? I will give a little advice and see if they stick around. If they even show up at all. Mostly, it's wasted breath...

In regards to the OWC, I will read the entire script. They're only shorts and most will be written by the regular members.

There seems to be two conversations here... one in regards to newbs and another in regards to OWC's.

Yeah, big deal, right?  I get where you're coming from.  I won't argue it.  But I'll stick by my main point.  Reviews that focus solely on 2 pages of format are stupid, annoying, boring, and need to come to a fucking end.  Period.

I can't remember when this is supposed to start. Is it tomorrow? I hope so. I'm not currently writing anything and I'm starting to suffer from cold turkey. I'm not due a break yet. I suppose the best thing to do would be to get drugged up... some more. Not that I'm advocating that to anyone. Drugs are bad, very, very bad.
