I have a nice little idea for a horror in my head. So if I could work it around what we get tonight, that'd be great
I don’t know what everyone else is thinking, but Don’s snippet of a clue (… a Drum!) got me thinking about jungle drums for no apparent reason. So there I was, there I was, and there I was… the Congo.
Perhaps this is too convoluted to create as a short, but as a feature I had this one rolling around my head after that. If someone out there wants to roll with it I think it would be awesome… Jumanji with blood!
Title: Pornopticon
Logline: When two teens find and play a sinister board game, they release a man who has been trapped in hell for decades, unleashing a night of evil, death, and debauchery that can only be stopped by finishing the game.
The beats are already there… in Jumanji that is. Chop it up, throw in a different flavor... and viola! A game board made from cracked and scarred flesh of tortured souls, dice whittled from human bone, etc… so macabre.
Of course, a drum could mean a sealed off 180Kg oil drum that has some misfortunate ‘Cartel’ stoolie soaking in brine. Covertly making his way up and down the trafficking highway day in and day out within the confines of some stank septic truck, as in ‘The Counselor’… OK, I’m out of ideas.

Across the years that the collective "we" have been doing these about what percentage of us have stewed about multiple ideas through about Wednesday before ever even beginning to write something Thursday or even Friday?

I'd say well over half.
Six, ten, twelve hours isn't going to matter.
It's all good.
Good luck, everyone!
As my wife tells me...every little bit matters.
Back to writing, some seem to knock these things out in a few hours. Me, I need more time. I'm not as natural a writer as many around here. I have to work at it. That's fine, I'm just happy to write, but the extra time is useful. Especially when you are starting with a blank mind.

It's 7 am Saturday morning here in Oz. Usually the announcement is about 2pm my time.
Every OWC I vow to get it done early in the week. But somehow it always goes awry and I frantically try and get it in on the last day. Will see if I can change that!
Be good to be 'distracted' by writing as I've been panicked a bit these last few days trying to organise stuff for a trip to Turkey next year for the 100th anniversary of the Gallipili landings.
