I'm excited to read the fairy tales. I saw one in my dream...

Something I read about the origin of fairy tales said they started out as dreams. The most compelling were retold over generations before ever being written down. That would explain the weird imagery and symbolism in some.

... my Mum thinks it's perfectly acceptable in mixed company to say:  'pig's bum' ...

Lol, that just sounds nasty. I remember my Grandma on my Mom's side, was this little ol' lady about 4' 5" with a thick Scottish accent that would let go some of the most derogatory racial slurs you'd ever heard... funny to say the least.

... gonna miss my 'Rick critique'

Sweet... maybe for the best though, lol. Last OWC I was all grumpy n' shit, and just posted whatever lame reply came to mind. This time I'll be nice...

I'm about 10 scripts in now and it seems the common theme is the real lack of horror at this point.

I'm really hoping things pick up.

8 scripts in for me, and the quality is shockingly LOW.

I have to agree. Although I've only read 4 and I'm usually not the bad guy, but 3 of them are pretty brutal to get through and the 4th read like poetry(obviously talented though)

Wouldn't it be fun to to guess which script belongs to whom?

That should be the competition IMO :p

It is a part of it. 'Who wrote what...' Speculation usually happens round the end of read/reviews. I think I guessed two last time. Harder than you might think.

I've got a few guesses but I don't think I've been active here long enough to know everyone's voice.

Anyway, mine covers a lot of recurring themes so it should be easy to guess if you've read any of my stuff.

I haven't read anything yet, but can someone recommend a good horror script?

I've never read a script in my life that actually scared me.  I legit don't even know how that would have to be written.  I'm not much of a horror guy and feel like that genre is pretty broad these days, so i really don't even know what qualifies at this point.

Just skimming threads it seems like every reply is mentioning how the scripts aren't really "horror," and i really want to read a classic example of something "horrific."

I'd list my "work" here, but I don't know how to hyperlink.

"Career" Highlights
-2, count em, 2 credits on my IMDB page.
-One time a fairly prominent producer e-mailed me back.
-I have made more than $1000 with my writing!
-I've won 2 mugs... and a thong.  (polaroids of me in thong available for $10 through PM)

@vc_wg - because I crave attention

I've read about 7 so far and I'm done for the day. I have to spread these out otherwise I go script crazy.

Out of the 7 I've read 2 were excellent and rec's for me, here's hoping I find some more gems like these.

I've decided to wait for my five assigned scripts. I'll give those close attention/feedback. After that, I'll do as many as I can.
Henry

P.S. I've read a dozen or so but commented on only the first two or three. I didn't say much beyond "too many mistakes." However, if those two or three are among my assigned five, I'll revisit and expand.
