I'm drawn to the doppleganger. Again, scenes in my head that would have things take place inside a mirror or window that aren't taking place on the reality side of the reflection. Can you shoot something like this?
Check out this film for the exact replication of those ideas: The Broken.
I see that multiple submissions are allowed but I didn't see if it was acceptable to submit something completed before this challenge. I'm submitting something brand new for this but I also have q screenplay I wrote a couple of years ago that totally fits the theme. Is that okay??
That would kinda defeat the challenge. Then it becomes a pitch and not a challenge...
Rick, it's true I have the time to type up ten pages, but I don't have the time to have another story developing in my head when I need all my concentration on FK. I can read though. Doesn't take long and doesn't require total immersion.
James, I'm pretty sure it's temporary...sort of a punishment for often complaining about the genre/theme of the OWC.
...and no, I wouldn't delete your post. I love brawls and fist fights!!!!

I am with Balt here. In fact, I am pretty strongly against it.
One of the two works is sure to be superior -- pick the best one and go with that. To do otherwise is actually kind of selfish.
There is no technical rule against it, but if you think about it -- since the submissions are anonymous -- when you submit more than one you are kind of robbing reads and feedback from the other authors.
I have never submit more than one, and I never will.

Noooooo....
The one that was written earlier should not be entered as it was not written with the OWC in mind. Part of the challenge's charm is the time restraint in writing it; there was no such restraint here. This script could've been written over the course of months.
If you want to submit it as a short, that's fine. Don't submit it as a OWC script.

[bert's edit: Misread the question a bit -- Phil and Balt are right -- still against multiple submissions in any form, though]

bert or myself will not hesitate, however... so keep it in check.

I think if you submit two you should have to read and review each entry twice.
1. Anthropophagi - sounds like a cool looking creature, yet one that would take animatronics and good special effects to look anything besides laughable on screen. would you look to write some of these beasts with a bit of Hitchcock type horror for that reason? The less seen is scarier...
I imagine something like The Annoying Orange type SFX would work.
Is that frowned upon? Fluency is a necessity in this business. Not trying to start a debate, just asking.
There's no technical rule but there's an informal one called the Helio rule (I think that's because Helio submitted an even dozen or something for one of the OWCs). It's been around for a while. Generally multiple entries are frowned upon in OWCs.
Quoted from Gregg
The Helio Rule came into effect shortly after the April 2006 OWC I believe, where Mr. Helio submitted three scripts. The Rule states that any person who decides to participate in the One Week Challenge is limited to only one script submission. We all love Helio, but for the OWC we deemed it unfair to the other participants to submit multiple scripts, considering that some people don't read all the entries, so there's a greater chance that they'd read multiple scripts by the same author rather than an equal share for everyone else.
Ok, sorry for any ignorance on my part, but getting back to the no animals thing?
Does that mean ordinary animals like dogs, cats, etc? Because a lot of these mythical beasties are in fact animals. Just wanted to clarify as I was gonna use one in a minor role
