No kids?   Then I'm out... My whole story hinges on one.  Oh, well... I'll still write it.  I might pool together one of these other stories, but we'll see.  I've been focusing on this one since I read the criteria -- Guess I should've read it a little better.

Well, Phil -- You might have validation in your slasher theory after all.

You can have kids, just saying it's potentially problematic.

My advice to everyone is to stop asking questions that will limit you and everyone else if teh answer comes back differently than you'd hope.

Write what you want and let's see what we can churn out and what Rick likes.

Balt, c'mon, brother...you're in!  We need you in.  If you need a kid or 2, throw 'em in.  I'm pretty sure I'll be having a kid in mine, but I haven't even looked up a single one of the myths yet.

Unpacking/moving is no fun!!!

Sorry, Jeff, but just for the record I'm pretty sure there's no British/Celtic Ski monster.

Nope, no skiing going to be taking place.  May even be set back in the day.  Thinking about some good old fashioned Gothic Gaelic horror...low budget...simple sets, minimal FX, dialogue induced horror with some creepy shit going down.

LOVE IT!!!!

Hope to get a chance to do some research tonight...

Thanks again to Don, Rick, and of course, Mistress Pimp Pia.

What do you think it is?

Yeah, that's definitely the Scottish Sasquatch Fear Liath in a SCUBA suit.  Just prankin' some English people.

Can't be any harder than dogs, right?

Pardon my noob-ness, but am I correct in my understanding?  You have an award winning director that is going to read the submissions, and if he finds a script that he likes he may actually produce it?

And all we have to do it submit a kick-ass script by the 25th that follows the guidelines the he has laid out?

Sounds fun.

There are lots of awards. We're not talking Oscar here, but yes, he is an award winning director.

Basically -- But it might be harder than you think to write a "KICK ASS" script in that amount of time...  I'm opting out at this time as a matter of fact.  I'm taking my story, complete with Star Wars Darth Vader carrying case and going home...

I'll work on it and sub it to Shriekfest for the early entries on march 20th in the shorts cat.

Then again this could be theatrics, staged to throw people off since it's an anonymous gig here.  But there's always that possibility it's not.  Anyways, g'luck with your entry all... I'll be reading and commenting on all of them (IF I'M A-round).

I'm surprised that you even allow slasher and torture horror in this, Rick

They're legitimate subgenres, like any other, and good movies can STILL be made out of them, though it is very rare (Martyrs and The Descent, for example.)

For the record, I love the challenge. It IS a little too broad though (I believe "occult" should be taken out as it could mean almost anything supernatural!)

Cheers, Pia and Rick. I'm still thinking about a possible story for the theme (I'm a little creatively shot at the moment) but it's very attractive to me.

OK...if Balt's out, then so am I!!!!!  But then again, that could be just a stupid, lame, age-old trick to throw you guys off.

Then again, I highly doubt Balt is out.  I sure hope not.

Drinking heavily once again and heading to my new Hot Tub...well, not mine exactly, but I guess I got to look at the perks of apartment living...yeah, I know, there are some for sure...just to many fucking people all around me.

Balt, don't bail, my friend.  I KNOW you can and WILL write a KICK-ASS script for this OWC.  And...I will too, damnit!

C'mon peeps!!!!!!

A question:

Are we to indicate copyright in the title page this time around? Like with the last challenge?

Yes, I'd like everyone to do that.
