Isn't taking the pis typical British/Aussie slang, not even exclusive to sports? Somebody just put a noun spin on it. I wouldn't say anyone made it up.
To you new guys out there that are taking part, just so you know, receiving feedback and giving nothing in return is hated even more than entering a pisstake. If you enter a script, be sure to read other entries and make comments.
I shall rain down a shitstorm of firelit gumballs upon any newbie who posts a script and doesn't comment. Unless their script is good. Then I will say your script is good, but you're still an asshole.

You are correct - though it is British. I figured pisstake was an Australian spin on the saying but I don't think so now. I think pisstake is British too.
Never heard the term 'pisstake' before, but I don't want to submit one, and certainly not more than one!
And yes, PISSTAKE is an original SS word...forgot who came up with it though, but we're keeping it.
Stevie came up with pisstake and it has an Aussie etymology.
Andrew used it here, first, on 6/11/09. There's the thread.
Always thought it was stevie...but he probably just brought the term to the OWC. And the word has been around and not just on SS. Seems like it's used a bit with sports. Since Andrew used it, it's probably British - not Aussie.

My God. You folks will spend umpteen calories on keystrokes and synapse leaps before taking a moment for elementary research:
At mountaintop a Anthropophagi football team urinates while guzzling victory mead.
Downstream a wailing Bean Nighe with a head cold washes clothes, unaware of what she's doing.
Urisk walks by, chuckles then keeps on his way to go play cards with Fear Liath and the bogeymen.
THP! THP! THP! goes the scallywayg poop monster as he... it shuffles through the yellow, red and orange river in the other direction to go have tea with the Queen.
Mountaintop Muryans yell at the giant Anthropophagi "How long's that piss-take?!"
An adjective describing something which is ridiculously easy. That exam was a pisstake.
I can tell you this too: I can make a drink that will taste like a pisstake. But I would say there is no such thing as a pisstake shot. All shots are good!
We have something called history and sometimes that usurps Google.
Awww! That's sooo sweet.
Ask Don if he'll replace the "The February 2011 One Week Challenge Has Begun! Scripts due here by 2/25 at 11:59 pm est" banner with that after the challenge!
Being English, "Pisstake","Are you taking the piss?", "Don't take the piss" etc are phrases I use everyday.
They can used for a variety of different situations -
"Pisstake" (A comedic/satirical impression or skit designed to mock something or someone, usually in a sarcastic fashion). or sometimes: (Somebody wins an award when they clearly dont deserve it, while a nominee - that popular opinion decrees did deserve it - leaves with nothing).
"Are you taking the piss?" (Are you mocking me?)
This can also used in serious scenarios: (Are you taking liberties with my good nature, thus taking advantage of me?)
"Don't take the Piss" (Don't mock me, I'm actually really nice and you are being cruel just to make yourself feel better about your useless existence).
This is also often used in the workplace (Please pull your weight and do some work, your lazyness is making you unpopular with your colleagues, who are carrying you. This is not fair as you get paid the same wage as they do. You also could try wearing an anti-perspirant from time to time).
"He/She/They took the piss" is often used when discussing sport - (the pisstaker(s) was/were rather brilliant - they made the opposition look like fools with their vast superiority.)
A piece of piss is a phrase that describes a task that was easy to accomplish.
Yeah, I thought I'd introduced 'pisstake' to the SS pantheon but Phil's research shows Andrew mentioned it first! Good stuff!
I did probably get off British TV long ago and just used it in the Aussie way.
And i promise no pisstake for this OWC - actually the one I did for Halloween I submitted it as a normal short.
After this OWC is over, we could have a PTOWC, using Rick's theme - the potential for comic mayhem with all the mythical things is there for the (piss)taking...
Also Phil, you mentioned a few pages back about envisoning a script in 5 pages instaed of 8 or so, to make it tighter? Excellent advice and I may try and do that.
If I were to do a script about a family of cannibals would they have to resemble the description of the Anthropophagi or would cannibalism cover that myth?
Sorry to sound like a bore but think I have a decent script here but no mention of Anthropophagi as of yet!!

'Taking the piss', 'extracting the urine' and 'pisstake' are used in the UK and Ireland and to a less common degree New Zealand and Australia.

You should imply that these cannibals are Anthro...
I'm assuming that you started writing this after the challenge was announced. You're not supposed to submit previously-written scripts, even if they fit the theme/genre.
