I've an idea for another story that involves the use of malicious black magic.
However, despite a sensible amount of investigating for actual historical acts of such I can't find any.

Black magic this, black magic that, they did black magic, they were accused of black magic, there are laws being passed against those that persecute those accused of black magic - but not a single reference to "They turned my child into a goat with black magic!" or "My loving wife was turned to stone by black magic!"

Nothing.

Nada.

Zilch.

Can't find a simple list of "Don't let those warlocks kick sand in your face! Look at what you can do if you only knew black magic!"

Symptoms of Black Magic/Demonic Possession in Women:
Bruises around your reproductive area when you wake from sleeping.
Dreams of being raped or having sexual intercourse with someone or something else while you are asleep, possibly resulting in a real orgasm.
Erratic menstrual periods, either no period at all, or very irregular, or excruciatingly painful periods that are completely debilitating.
Unable to conceive children/barren because of blocks caused by magic or possession.
Recurring miscarriages, even though there are no physical problems.

I think you're going to be disappointed, Ray. I've done a fair share of research on the subject (for an unrelated project) and I think real world magic(k) really isn't what most people think it is. You could even argue it's not actually supernatural. Don't take my word for it though. I'm no expert and there's still a lot I don't know or haven't fully grasped.

Honestly, I think the kind of stuff you're looking for was made up by the people responsible for combating it. Frankly, I think that'd be a lot more interesting a concept to explore. A lot are old Pagan Gods that have been "demonised" eg Baal.  In general you have to evoke the lesser ones first and ask for their loyalty and build up through the hierarchy until you get Lucifer himself/herself to pledge allegiance. They provide familiars and teach you the secrets of life.
