The problem with those forms of metal (IMO of course) is their lack of ability to sing. I don't care for growling vocals. I'm from Buffalo and a really popular group in that genre is Cannibal Corpse and I just can't stand the vocals. I do like Satricon's song KING. That was a fun song.
And Scar Symmetry is (was? one of the few bands that we'd both like b/c they have both clean and scream vocals.
Also, Into Eternity is pretty good too. It isn't easy to find clean and scream/growling vocals in the same group. I guess early Within Temptation (one of my fav bands), After Forever, and a few other bands from that genre when it was still evolving. I think even Nightwish had some scream vocals.
I'm interested in reading animation, horror, sci fy, suspense, fantasy, and anything that is good. I enjoy writing the same. Looking to team with anyone!
I love harsh vocals so I'm perfectly at home with most extreme metal genres. Not a fan of Cannibal though. One of the most boring, redundant bands out there.
Doom metal is full of great singers though. See Candlemass, Pagan Altar, Reverend Bizarre, etc. Black metal has Primordial, I guess, although I think they do their own thing and don't really fit any subgenre.
On topic, I was waiting with nervous anticipation for Dreamscale to review my script. It was going to be a barometer of sorts, if it got read through or dropped after a couple of pages.
Anyhoo, it received some robust critique (all justified) but was read in it's entirety... I must say I was rather chuffed

I don't think I'll read any more of these. Everything's been already said - if it's a good entry - many said so. If the entry doesn't work - many said so, why would I read and nod to others... Anyway, I think when it reaches 15 or so reads - that's enough. So I won't read.
I'm about 6-7 short of reading them all, not including the scripts that went over. Decided I'll check those out when the names are announced if I happen to owe any return reads. Either way, at this point, why not finish? I've read about 2-3 scripts per day. I could use the extra time.
Yeah, I think I was on cruise control when I wrote that. The way it normally works is that the first week is used to read scripts. Week 2 is for the votes to go out & people to guess who wrote what and at the end of the second week, the writers and readers' favorite are revealed.
Think it might be a disservice to the writers, not to mention yourself, if you decide to just say - Oh well, no need to read anymore. There could be something in there you missed, a gem perhaps. Everyone has their own tastes, as my script went half and half among those who read. Personally, I'll be damned if I let someone else make up my mind for me as to what's good and what's not. I try not to read any comments prior to reading a script because I don't need the influence. And even if I take a peek here and there and it's negative, I read anyway because that writer wants me and you to read. It's only fair. Even the ones that went over got reads from me. May not have voted for them for that reason, and if they were good I would have said so.
