I know one of the writers because I read their script before they submitted it. Other than that, I stopped guessing writers years ago after SimplyScripts blew up and 30-50 people started entering the OWC. It stopped being fun with so many people involved, and having taken some time away from the site, I don't recognize half the current members' writing styles anyway at this point.
In terms of quality I don't think I'm able to compare with previous OWC's , it's so different.
I liked this OWC so much better. It was very different. I wouldn't care to read about superheroes but I was having lots of fun with those. And I think I pinned a lot for recommend - many were really good.
The page limit helped too. Maybe even psychologically, but it's good to know that any given script will end on p6. I'm kind of being honest, sorry)
I think Glenn wrote Supermick, and I know one other author because he told me(but it was pretty obvious anyway.) Gonna try and get through the rest by tomorrow.
Pretty sure Dustin or RV wrote SuperChav. 3 others I know only because the author told me lol.
Another disappointing turnout review wise. Obviously no one is obligated to read them all but the numbers tell the tale once again.
This turned out to be a pretty hard challenge for a few perps with the comedy genre. Most had very good writing and an ok story but just weren't funny. Involving a superhero made it tougher too, so, what on paper looked fairly easy turned out to be a real challenge for quite a few.

I actually think it isn't fair to not get the reads. I mean, one of them had 9 reviews. That's not right, even if they did go over by 4 lines.
I don't know why people are allowed to submit entry after entry and not do the civil thing? I mean, if someone is busy (like with school) or has something happen (like with Mark) or even says sorry, I'm really busy right now, or something, even a 1 line, I read this and their score, but, I think if you submit, you should read at least 50% of them.
This site is to help others. Everyone has an opinion. Anyone can comment. it doesn't mean it's right or whatever, but, they can at least try.
I'd rather try and be wrong, LEARN from that lesson, then do nothing at all.
Just my rant, sorry.
Dan
ps, I'm not complaining about my story. I've had a fair amount of reads, so, this isn't a sour grapes post, and when the names come out, you will see that's true. I feel bad for some others who put a lot of hard work in and haven't had many comments at all.
I'm interested in reading animation, horror, sci fy, suspense, fantasy, and anything that is good. I enjoy writing the same. Looking to team with anyone!
It happens every OWC, but much less so now that only board members are allowed to enter. It was crazy for awhile when people promoted it in social media. We'd get a lot of people who entered, but never read one single script.
Some people who read and comment on the scripts and give solid thoughtful reviews often delete their comments from the scripts where the writer didn't read anything.
One time Don put an asterix by scripts entered where the writers were participating in reading. I thought that was extremely helpful. Wish that feature was back, but perhaps it takes up a lot of time on Don's part.
I will try to read some on Sunday. Until then, I'm just swamped with all kinds of stuff. Good stuff! So I want to enjoy it too.
I really do feel bad for having a go at Equinox now, especially when he's commenting and hasn't even entered...apologies again!!!!
I did enter and it seems like I missed you having a 'go' at me. I'm just quite busy at the moment. Been doing last minute rewrites of one of my shorts in the last few days, because the director is going to start shooting it today and we had come up with some more ideas for the story. That in combination with traveling 300km (two way) to visit one of my customers in Stuttgart. That's why I tried to read as many as possible at the start because I knew I'd be short on time later on. So sorry, if anybody thinks I didn't read enough. Got like 20 I think.
Edit: Just checked it, read and commented 16 here and read another one before the OWC, so I didn't comment it. Hopefully I can read a few more this weekend.
I thought this may have been you... but there are a couple of good writers, like Stevie, that are possibles too.
I don't know any of them for sure though, and that's how I prefer it. I'd rather be completely honest. If I know who wrote it, then that will affect how I respond. It's only natural.
