The primary purpose of the SimplyScripts Discussion Board is the discussion of unproduced screenplays. If you are a producer or director lookng for your next project, the works here are available for option, purchase or production only if you receive permission from the author.
NOTE: these screenplays are NOT in the public domain and MAY NOT be used or reproduced for any purpose (including eductional purposes) without the expressedwrittenpermission of the author.
As for asking questions, I'm going to point to an OWC that occurred before you arrived at the site. No matter how narrow the parameters are made, there will always be questions by people looking to see how far away from the original topic they can get:
I'd list my "work" here, but I don't know how to hyperlink.
"Career" Highlights -2, count em, 2 credits on my IMDB page. -One time a fairly prominent producer e-mailed me back. -I have made more than $1000 with my writing! -I've won 2 mugs... and a thong. (polaroids of me in thong available for $10 through PM)
First draft is done and now I’m wishing this was a 10 page OWC. It feels clunky and rushed. That will teach me to be all cocky about how doable this challenge is!
Ah well, I said I’d enter and I will. I’ll give it a polish later and see if I can sort out some of the issues.

Submitted. You can edit, edit and edit and always find more to edit. But I've had it.
Look forward to reading the submissions.
It's also good to step away from it and then come back again with a fresh head. I haven't looked at mine for a while now. I'll give it one more go over and then submit.
Good luck to all who enter... and I do agree that this one could have done with being slightly longer. My story could do with another character but to include it would take it too high over page count. I may put it in if a rewrite ever takes my fancy... or, of course, the public demand it. Never rule it out.
In fact, as these are comedies, I like the shorter page length - may make them more tolerable, mine included. But I do get it is harder to construct a story in that length
My scripts - links to be updated.
The Elevator Most Belonging To Alice - Runner Up Nashville Inner Journey - Page Awards Finalist - Bluecat semi final Grieving Spell - winner - London Film Awards. Ultimate Weapon - Fresh Voices - second place IMDb link... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm7062725/?ref_=tt_ov_wr
Six pages is a challenge, but more than doable. I basically interpreted it as write a scene. Maybe two. A scene should really have its own arc anyway, so it works out.
The limit should also take the edge off reading the other scripts. The last OWC I entered, I read all the entries. I was pretty bitter by the end. It's comedy this time. Could be even worse.
I just wonder if my script is funny at all. I didn't exactly roll on the floor when I wrote it, so I guess readers won't either. It's a somewhat funny twist in the end, but not like can't stop laughing. Guess that's the problem if a non-comedy writer is forced to write comedy

I think it is hard to perceive humour in your own work, unless you are a reasonably skilled comedy writer. If comedy is not your natural style, then it will be a challenge... which of course, this is.
I reckon I have a couple of gags in mine that are passable as humourous, but I don't think the whole script is 'cleverly funny'.
The proof will be in the pudding from Sunday onwards
