What stops me is having to read and comment on 25 or 30 superhero scripts that are supposed to to be funny.
No one has to read ALL the entries. I don't even know where that comes from. Some people do because they feel they should, but it's certainly not a requirement. It is however, frowned upon to not read at all if you have entered.
I will try to read as many as I can, even though I can't enter this time.

It should be a requirement to read at least half, if not more...well, at least a page or so before you're out.
I predict you'll be in, Pia, but I guess we'll have to wait to find out.
Blondie, we need to something about perps who enter and read none of the others. Don used an asterisk system once to show who had been reading. I say bring it back! Lol

Any particular reason why no fake names either? I know Don typically comes up with his own, but creating pseudonyms is and has been fun in and of itself.
Fair point, James. I just didn't want to confuse him. But, you know what I mean. Fakes are no issue.

Unless we were to do the same thing that I did with the Urban Legends (and was a dismal failure), only Don would have access to who writes what script, hence he's the only one who would have control over something like that.
I'm interested in reading animation, horror, sci fy, suspense, fantasy, and anything that is good. I enjoy writing the same. Looking to team with anyone!
I’m surprised at people dropping out because they think Superheroes are not their thing. If something is not your thing, twist it until it is. Give it a fresh spin! If anyone’s seen the TV show Misfits, that’s as far removed from a traditional ‘superhero’ story as you can get and yet it is a story about a bunch of societies worst louts gaining superpowers and learning to become heroes…plus it’s absolutely hilarious.
If the challenge was a 6 page comedy about a first date that goes disastrously wrong and you think, ‘Hey, I could write that!’ Well write that, but give one of the characters (or both) superpowers and have that as the reason the date goes disastrously wrong.
It's all about how you approach it.
Now I look forward to you all reading my script and saying, Mark – you can’t write comedies about Superhero’s…that was terrible!

And the comedy doesn't have to over the top hillarious. Couple of funny phrases here and there and voila. It's not always a parody. Just something light and funny at places. But if you want to go for something like a parody - even better. It's just you don't have to.
Sean said reading someone's mind is super enough. How hard it can be? My mother reads my mind all the time. And I don't know it. The thought is hillarious to me - oh the things she would learn.
And I'll be waiting to see a lot of "superheroes is not your thing, sorry" in response to mine. And that's fine. It's a game right.
