There hasn't been an OWC in a while.

Let's see if we can get one started this month!

Who's with me?

What's with the timer at the top of this page?  Strange.

This is probably a really dumb question, but, when it says 6 pages, does that mean that 6 and 1/2 pages (part of a page 7) is too long?

I've cut so much already for this limit.  I'd hate to cut more...

Dan

Please read my scripts:

I'm interested in reading animation, horror, sci fy, suspense, fantasy, and anything that is good.  I enjoy writing the same.  Looking to team with anyone!

Thanks

Mine's in. I must admit I nearly dropped out. My step-brother hung himself today and it's been chaos as you can imagine. Writing comedy was the last thing I wanted to do but I found I couldn't sleep and writing this has calmed me, which is quite weird but welcoming.

I don't mention this for sympathy or anything, I do so simply because it happened and I need to accept that. It's also a good reminder of how important writing is to me and how medicinal being creative can be.

Best of luck everyone, let the comedy and creativeness commence.

Mark, I'm truly sorry for what happened to you today.

There aren't really words for something like this.  We're thinking of you in this terrible time.

Dan

I didn't take any chances.  I got it down to 6, but I'm not happy with it.  I don't think this will go over very well, especially hacked the way it was...

If it was only 2 pages longer...

Dan

PS
I submitted.  I really don't know what to expect.  The other 2 times I entered, I had a good feeling and I got slammed.  This time, I think it could have been funny, but, I just had no time to develop any situations.  Of course, no one did...

It's my understanding that the shorts must at least be six pages. I for one am not going to stomp the ground if I read someone who went to 8 or 9 pages.

I submitted with 2 minutes to go. My usual idiot scramble to the finish line.
Not even sure I submitted the pdf. version. But big deal if I blew it, compared to what Mark R. is going through.

My condolences, Mark.

From Mr. Blonde:

Up to and including 6 pages (nobody's going to come after you if it's less, but try to keep it to 6, max).

Mark,

There's not a lot I, or anyone else, can say that'll help. You've my sincere sympathies. I'm gonna leave it there.

The best of luck to you and yours in the future.

Can't say I understand why people would be okay if it goes longer. Rules are clearly stated, and I think it  gives a writer an unfair advantage if he/she is allowed to go over the max. As Dan said, he wished he could've had two more pages. Well, if I was allowed two more pages maybe mine could've been better, as well. That's the whole challenge, though. Get it done in the pages allotted. Anyone over that limit gets a pass from me. No reason the folks who actually followed the rules should have to abide by those who didn't.
