Have read them all except for the 3 that were over 7 pages. I think this was one of the tougher challenges since I've been onboard here, what with the 6 page max and the mix of comedy and superhero theme.

But it made for very quick and easy reading!!!   Anyone need any extra thoughts on their script, feel free to PM me

He means you won't last a week without making it clear that a certain script belongs to you, by replying to those who have left comments on your script.

Sometimes people getting a little excited when they get bad reviews and they feel the need to explain themselves before the week is out, so we all know who wrote it before the reveal... don't do it.

Yep, that is exactly what I mean.  So far, I haven't been able to last the week yet.  I had to defend my piece.  Or at least explain the drug induced stupor I was in when I wrote it and explain why it seemed like a good idea.

He's right, you SHOULDN'T do it.  I haven't been able to hold my cool.

And actually, that's about it.  You do die each time someone says something bad, and then it does fade into eternity, never to be heard from again.

Actually, so far, the newest one has gotten pretty decent reviews so far.  Figures, the one I didn't care for gets the best (for me) reviews).  It still isn't good, but, at least it's not overwhelmingly negative.

I had to cut so much out from mine that it lost so much of what I intended...

Dan

I am about half way through.

This is an interesting review challenge - unlike any other OWC. Since it is a comedy OWC, for me a litmus test has been - did it make me laugh/chuckle? Several otherwise well-written ones have not.  Not quite sure what to make of them recommend/consider/pass. Clumsy way of saying - should I rate a just okay written script that made me laugh over a well written script that did not.

Wil be mulling it over.

Done. I've read them all. Didn't comment on the last two that were over the page limit because I'd just be repeating what's already been said.

Comedy is pretty subjective, isn't it? I think SuperMick is an excellent example of how we all perceive things differently. I find myself trying to be conscious of cultural differences too. All the way down to the slang/language that's used.

A lot of interesting reads. Good stuff.

For me, that choice is easy.  If it made me laugh, they did the job.  If not, they didn't.  It's a comedy.  Even if we don't appreciate that sense of humor (say low brow vs high brow) at least we can see if it's done well or not.

So, no laugh, for me = pass.

If you laugh at your own does that count

Well, when I say laugh, a slight chuckle...sort of. Good enough for me. Others though have to make me howl with laughter to make the grade

I don't know. I hated the movie Bridesmaids. Not my cup of tea at all, but just because I didn't find it funny doesn't mean it wasn't a comedy.

I have read a few of these, but not commented on any. At least not yet. Seems to me some people try to be funny in their prose, rather than what would be on screen. That to me doesn't work at all.

Well, read all 34. Congrats to all the writers who entered. I liked a few of these. About five or six stood out as pretty darn good, but I have an idea what my final three will be. Some of these were just flat out bizarre, while others had a decent premise but lacked in execution. Kinda ran the gamut what went right and what went wrong. But a lot of peeps already pointed out that comedy wasn't their thing, myself included. But, as always, fun and a cool challenge.

I finished up last night, mixed bag as always but was a little surprised by how how many were closer to drama than comedy, not a bad thing as they worked as Dramas but not necessarily in this OWC

Still great effort by all in getting done and in in a week, always fun

Now for the interesting part... The writer reveal and the voting!

I’ve read about half so far, I will get through all of them before the week is out. So far I’ve been impressed and it’s been great to have a comedy owc for a change. I think it’s good to force writers out of their comfort zone every once in a while.

As for my own entry, it’s getting the usual love/hate/kinda like/it’s OK/I really don’t understand it at all inconsistency mine always seems to generate lol! But I don’t feel the need to come out and defend it. If people read it and get it, fine. If not, fine. I’m getting some good ideas for draft 2 and that’s all that matters to me.

I've got about 5 or 6 more to read...or try to read.  Several good efforts, many very poor efforts...a few little to no effort at all.

Very surprised at the lack of comedy on display, for the most part.  It's almost as if some peeps don';t know what comedy even is, which I find hard to fathom.  But then again, the theme of superhero or super power doesn't go hand in hand with comedy, IMO, which is why I didn't enter a script.

I was going to throw up a pisser, but decided not to piss peeps off with it.

I've only read a few thus far. Only one genuinely made me laugh. I'm impressed with the variety though. OWC scripts can run a little repetitive depending on the genre/theme. For the most part, I think the writers made a good effort too.

My own script is a complete bust. I blew it with the last rewrite and realized it at the worst possible time: AFTER submitting but BEFORE the scripts were posted. By the time it was up, I was already over it. Whatever. Onward with the other scripts!
